Different types of poisons will require different types of treatment. That is why it is crucial to tell the vet the poison ingested. Sometimes this may be hard though especially if the cat had been outdoors. You may not be able to tell what exactly the cause of the poisoning was.

Poison cases should also be reported to the poison control body in the region. This is to make sure that any environmental hazards may be taken care of. With the right treatment and care, a cat that has been poisoned gets a full recovery.
